Laney at 4 years:
--Developmentally right on track with gross motor, fine motor, learning numbers and letters. She has had a heart murmor since birth but given the noise today, he was unable to detect if it was still there. She got a booster for something or other and then actually got her kindergarten shots. We figured why give her shots now and then another round next year; let's get it all over now. So no more shots until she is like 10 or something. Yay!
--Her weight and height are both at 85th percentile. She is so much taller than other girls her age but obviously heftier too--no shocker given with how much this girl eats.
--No major concerns and she remains very healthy. Only minor concern is Laney says her belly hurts (basically daily) but we figure it has to do with wanting to watch TV (aka feeling sick so I get to lay on the couch and watch TV). She still continues to have cyclic fevers the first week every month. They last 3-4 days and fevers get up to 105. Once she has medicine, the fever comes down. Hopefully will outgrow these soon (for the record, she hasn't had one yet this month).
Matthew at 18 months:
--He says lots of words these days (cracker, Laney, Ella, milk, cup, puppy, dog, Mama, Dada, Nana, cheese, banana, snack, bye bye, bed, mine, waffle, thank you, please, etc). No worries on speech with him, just want to get 2 words together before 2 years old.
--With this new found speech comes frustration--for us all! He knows enough words to get the basic needs across, but not enough words to communicate his every need. This leads to lots of crying on his part, some crying on my part as well. He has been a pistol lately running away with his poopy diaper half on, jumping off tables, pulling down on chandeliers above tables, throwing food, etc. Oh my!
--He is 24 lbs, 3 oz--25th percentile.
33 1/11" tall--25th percentile.
--He is a little peanut but does eat fairly well and is so stinkin' active that we aren't worried. He has hovered around the 25th percentile since about 3 months of birth.
--His left ear tube is out but his right one is still in. he goes back to see the ENT in March but hopefully we can avoid another set. This original set was supposed to last 9 months but we were lucky enough to get 10-11 months out of them.
--Sleeping is still not Matthew's forte. We have experimented with bedtimes (from 6pm-7:30 pm) and although he will go in phases where he might sleep until 7 AM, we often hear him crying at 5:45 AM. We get him at 6 AM and he stays up until nap time (around noon). Nap is generally 2 hours.
--He got 2 shots. Cried for one second (no joke!) and then moved right on.
Great appointment, although I left in a sweat. So blessed they are happy and healthy :)

Don't you just love those appointments? Luckily they've gotten better for us since the girls have gotten older, but when Clare was a newborn and Grace was 18 months I remember leaving there so sweaty and exhausted! At least the pediatrician understands- I'm sure it happens all the time!
Sounds like your children are growing perfectly. It's funny how they can be in such different percentiles and still be perfectly fine. My girls are the same way! Your kiddos are so stinkin' cute, too. Glad their checkups went well! :)
Oh, my! You certainly had your hands full that day! I do remember appointments like that. And I'm such a germophobe that I'm normally adding to the mix by saying, "Don't touch that!" "Please get off the floor!" :)
So glad the kids are healthy and doing well. Those well-child check-ups are such a blessing to confirm those beliefs and have a chance to talk to a doctor one-on-one. Well, at least attempt to... :)
Cute pics of the kids!
