Throwing Rocks

One of our favorite pasttimes is throwing rocks into the Little Miami River. On this beautiful night when Jason was out of town, my parents and I met for dinner at a nearby park, threw some rocks in the river and enjoyed a peaceful night.

Earlier in the day our neighbor, Ellie, came up to play. Gotta love the summer!

My birthday

I celebrated my 35th birthday with my amazing family.
Although it was the kids last day of school and there was tons of excitement with that, it was a great day for a birthday. We went to dinner, had some dessert and had some fun family time.

Mama, her kids and her margarita :)

Look at those cute Becks!

Now our turn :)

Matthew saw this dinosaur and ran up to him like he was his best friend.
He surely loves his dinos!

Sound of Music

Jason and I have had season tickets to La Comedia and when Sound of Music was up, I was excited to take the girls. We watch that movie and sing the songs quite often and seeing it on stage just seemed natural. The girls love learning more about the family, Austria, why they had to leave the country and why they had so many children :)

Although a late night, it was lovely to be with the ladies (and thank you to the Willetts for keeping Matthew for us).

Ella's soccer party

Ella had a very special soccer team filled with Terrace Park and Mariemont girls. The coaches, Henry Thoman and Nancy Hampton, were wondering at bringing out the best in each girl. Ella really learned a lot and her positioning was outstanding. Because of that positioning, she was often where she needed to be to score a goal....she scored 8 of them!

She earned a certificate for Best Goalie and Best Positioning. We are so proud of how much she learned and how hard she tried. What a great season!

Team t-shirts...poison panthers on the front, their nicknames on the back.
Ella was given the name Roddy named after Rodin, the thinking man. She was always thinking and working on the angles.....way to go El!

And although I don't have any pictures of Laney's soccer party, she had a party at Hahana Beach. Her team was also #1 in their division and she earned the most improved, which she absolutely was. So proud of Laney and how hard she worked. I see many goals in her future :)

Cinderella the Ballet

Last night Marina, Steve and I took our ladies to the ballet. Steve & Amanda already had tickets and then Marina scored some free ones so we were able to join too!

It was a beautiful (and rather funny....well, as funny as a ballet can be) interpretation of Cinderella. Although we didn't get home until well after 10 and we got last on the way home, the girls were troopers and had a great time. Most of the time, Laney was sitting on the edge of her seat in amazement. All of the girls thought the prince was so strong for being able to lift Cinderella in the air :)

Our little ladies were already for the show. Laney got so many compliments on her beautiful dress.

In this one, Laney and Amanda are both sticking out their tongues...silly girls.

Steve and the ladies.

Fun day with Nana Kay

This past week Matthew spent a few afternoon with my parents. One day I had field day at the girls school and the other day it allowed me to run to the store alone. Thank you, Mom & Dad, for entertaining him (I think he is getting bored with me these days).

I'm ready for fun, Nana!

Bubbles!

Fishing and blowing bubbles...can't beat that!

Matthew, why are you petting a coyote?
Isn't it rather real looking? These were placed around my parents neighborhood to keep the geese safe but they always cause me to take a second glance.
